Abstract
The causes of hemoperitoneum are numerous and evaluation by the radiologist and clinician team is critical as active hemorrhaging into the peritoneal cavity can be life threatening but if quickly recognized, may be urgently repaired. History and imaging clues usually rapidly narrow the differential in the atraumatic setting. In this representative pictorial review, we show various cases of hemoperitoneum on multiple imaging modalities, with an emphasis on CT. Cases ranging from vascular, iatrogenic injury, gynecological and neoplastic sequela will be shown with their respective specific imaging findings.
