Abstract

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a division of the United States Department of Health and Human Services, has trademarked a slogan for their health informational web sites “CDC 24/7: Saving Lives, Protecting People.” Health information pages have been compiled for the LGBT community entitled Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Health. The web site lists what the CDC is doing to help this population with its health needs as well as data and statistics on current trending health topics. Specific groups within the population are highlighted and practical information such as testing, prevention and treatment, and resource facilities close to one’s location can also be found.
