Abstract
Background: This is a successful case of robotic-assisted removal of a Bard inferior vena cava (IVC)filter (CR Bard Inc, Covington, Ga)and its fractured strut using the da Vinci Surgical System (Intuitive Surgical, Sunnyvale, Calif). The device is not Food and Drug Administration approved for IVC filter removal. When endovascular retrieval is not possible, IVC filters may be removed by a robotic-assisted approach.
