Description
In this presentation, medical librarians will be introduced to a variety of resource materials created by the NIH Generalist Repository Ecosystem Initiative (GREI) on best practices for data management and sharing in generalist repositories that can be leveraged for data management and sharing training and consultations. Representatives from GREI repositories will present and provide the rationale and development process for both published and in progress resources including: a generalist repository comparison chart, a generalist repository selection flowchart, a data deposit best practices checklist, and a Data Management and Sharing Plan (DMSP) guide and template. We will demonstrate using GREI resources to support data sharing in generalist repositories in compliance with NIH/OSTP requirements. As part of this presentation we will solicit the expert feedback of the MIRL community, the members of which occupy a critical role in the data management and sharing process. Their feedback will help us ensure that our GREI resources are as useful and applicable as possible to those working with NIH-funded researchers.
