Description
Rocuronium is a paralytic agent commonly used for rapid sequence intubation(RSI): Onset 60-75seconds, duration 40-60minutes; Deep sedation is recommended post RSI; Propofol is a sedative frequently used in ICU for sedation; Barriers to use of propofol for deep sedation post RSI with Rocuronium; Hemodynamic instability; Ordered as PAD light sedation protocol. Baseline Date: Patients intubated using rocuronium in Pod 1, 2, and 4 between January 1st and March 31st 2023; 62 patients received rocuronium; 44 (71%) received rocuronium and propofol; 31 (50%) received propofol with 20 minutes of rocuronium administration; 17 (27.4%) received propofol at appropriate (20mc/kg/min) dose with 20 minutes of rocuronium administration. Note: All patients received Fentanyl.
