Description
Families often turn to emergency departments for conditions that could be safely treated in primary or urgent care settings. This isn’t due to neglect, it’s the result of confusion, limited access, and low health literacy. Across Michigan, preventable ER visits strain providers and delay care for true emergencies. This project explores how community-informed, multilingual education empowers families to make confident healthcare decisions, reduces non-emergent pediatric visits, and strengthens the connection between patients and providers.
