Description
The Patient Engaged Research Center at Henry Ford Health created the Science of EngAgement Team (SEAT), a diverse group of patient partners, researchers, and community members, who were involved throughout the project. The SEAT worked to improve a scale (the Patient Engagement in Research Scale; PEIRS) that measures how well patients are included and valued in resaerch, making sure it accurately measures engagement from patients of all backgrounds. Through practices such as equity-centered partnership, capacity-building via structured learning, and reflexivity, patient partners contributed across all study phases.
